Annabelle has been with us since July 2024. I visit her in the office directly behind our production hall in Heinrich-Hertz-Straße. The trained freight forwarding & logistics services clerk previously only worked for large corporations. Most recently at a well-known large forwarding company.
What brings her to us?
Something new, to develop further, she says, and above all:
“Where not every day is the same”
More cozy…
She finds so much more variety here – and not just in terms of work processes. Compared to open-plan offices with 50 employees, where everyone had to adhere to the same-looking standards and additional regulations at the office space, Annabelle can furnish her office space “comfortably”. Her own plant, some decorations, a photo with her fiancé and the indispensable little radio
“I can’t do anything without the radio, that would never have worked in the open-plan office back then.”
She’s a problem-solver
What she enjoys most about working in the project management back office at GIP:
Solving problems, organizing projects and, above all, it’s a pleasure to celebrate successes: when it used to be said that “it used to be ‘difficult’ with the big car manufacturer” and now she’s been able to build a better relationship with them, seeing her work bear fruit through collegial correspondence at eye level and good support for customer concerns – that’s fulfilling. These successes are also due to the short decision-making paths. The CEO, Ms. Könneker, is just a few meters away and her door is almost always open. Requests and inquiries are taken from door to door. This allows the organization to function much faster, without all the tedious intermediary paths that she is familiar with from large corporations.
“It’s much more efficient and I get a lot more done. It’s nice to see that what you do goes further.”
And the colleagues?
She gets on well not only in the office, e.g. with the trainees, but also with the janitor and operations manager who has been employed here for many years.
“We all have our jokes here.”
Annabelle’s trial period is over in December, and we’ll be raising a glass to that at the Christmas party soon!
