After an enforced break of one year, the 27th Fakuma started on October 12, 2021 for the first major international presence trade fair for the plastics industry. The focus was on the digital transformation of the plastics industry, which was also driven by the pandemic, as well as the transformation to a circular economy.
Plastics have a bad image these days, but it doesn’t do them justice. Produce, consume, throw away – this has long been a thing of the past. So this year the Circular Economy, recyclability, product life cycle and product design were essential topics that were discussed on different levels with the aim to find and develop sustainable as well as practicable solutions.
Many ideas, inspirations and contacts, that is the summary after one week Fakuma. It has been shown that personal contact is the basis for good cooperation, especially for successfully initiating and implementing projects together. If the frequency of visitors was still restrained due to the current pandemic, the quality of the conversations held was clearly noticeable.
